Kiplefti -"anglo-global jazz routes"

The members of Kiplefti have been playing together in one form or another for the past 20 years. Formerly three-quarters of the jazz quartet Mind The Gap, Sophie Fishwick (drums, percussion), Steve Truman (double bass) and Matt Marks (keyboards, vocals) developed a hybrid form of improvised music, bringing together worlds of experience in touring, recording, theatre and dance in almost every imaginable musical style, with a particular love of African and Latin grooves.

Kiplefti have now finished their highly successful residency at The Elm Tree pub in Nottingham on Wednesday nights . Many musicians from Nottingham and beyond would guest with Kiplefti in what became a legendary session where the most exciting and unexpected musical encounters occurred. This tradition is now well and alive in new venues like The Hubb.
